Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Next Move Playbook (“Next Move,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website at nextmoveplaybook.com (the “Site”) and the Next Move Network mobile and web app (the “App”) (together, the “Services”).

Summary

• The App is a professional network for current and former college athletes, alumni, and employers. You build a profile, connect, message, and apply to jobs.
• You control who sees most of your profile, section by section, in Settings → Privacy.
• We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
• You can delete your account and data anytime in the App under Settings → Delete account.
• You must be 18 or older to use the App.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Account information: name, email address, password (stored securely by our authentication provider; we never see it), role (athlete, alumni, or recruiter), and date of birth. Your date of birth is used only to confirm you are 18 or older and is never shown to other members.
• Profile information: photo, headline, location (the city you enter), bio, athletic history (school, sport, position, division, seasons, awards, stats, highlight links), education (school, degree, major, graduation date, honors, and GPA if you add it), experience (jobs, internships, NIL deals, volunteer work), certifications, skills, transferable skills, work authorization, relocation preference, and whether you are open to work, open to mentor, or able to refer.
• Files: resume (PDF), video introduction, profile photo, company logo, and images you post.
• Content and activity: posts, comments, likes, messages, group membership, connection requests, job applications and notes to employers, mentorship and interview requests, event registrations, reports, and blocks.
• Verification information: a school email, roster link, work email, or LinkedIn URL you submit so we can verify you.
• Recruiter and company information: company name, website, logo, description, job posts, and (for recruiters) private notes, shortlists, and saved searches. Recruiter notes are visible only to the recruiter who wrote them.
• Website forms: when you request pricing on the Site, we collect your name, email, optional phone number, the type of person or organization you are, the service you are interested in, and your message.
• Support: anything you send when you contact us.

Information collected automatically

• Device and app information: push notification token (if you allow notifications), device type, operating system, app version, and basic technical logs (for example, errors and timestamps) that our hosting providers keep for security and reliability.
• Usage information: sign-in times, profile views (so members can see who viewed their profile), and activity needed to run features such as unread message counts and job matches.

We do not collect precise GPS location, contacts, or health information. The App asks for camera, microphone, photo library, and calendar access only when you use a feature that needs it (for example, a profile photo, a video interview, or adding an interview to your calendar). Calendar access is used only to add events; the App does not read your calendar.

How we use information

• To provide the Services: create your account and profile, show your profile to the members you allow, deliver messages and notifications, process job applications, schedule interviews and mentorship sessions, and host events.
• To recommend jobs, mentors, and people you may know.
• To verify athletes, recruiters, and companies, and to keep the community safe: reviewing reports, enforcing our Terms of Use, and preventing fraud and abuse.
• To manage memberships, free trials, founding-member status, and subscriptions.
• To respond to pricing requests and support messages.
• To understand overall usage (for example, the number of sign-ups, active members, and placements) and improve the Services.
• To comply with law and protect our rights and the rights of our members.

Who can see your profile

Your name, photo, headline, and role are visible to other signed-in members. For the rest of your profile you choose, section by section, whether it is visible to everyone signed in, verified recruiters and your connections, connections only, or only you. This applies to your athletic history, education, GPA, experience, resume, and contact information.

• Only verified recruiters at verified companies can search candidates.
• When you apply to a job, the employer’s hiring team can see your application, your note, and any resume you attach.
• Posts, comments, and group activity are visible to signed-in members.
• Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation.
• Members you block cannot see your profile or contact you.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share information only:

• With other members, as described above and as you choose.
• With service providers who process data for us under contracts that limit their use of it:
  • Supabase (database, authentication, file storage, and server functions)
  • Netlify (website hosting and website forms)
  • Expo (app builds, updates, and push notification delivery)
  • Apple and Google (app distribution, push notifications, and in-app purchases)
  • RevenueCat (subscription management)
  • Stripe (web payments)
  • Resend (email notifications)
  • Daily (video interviews and mentorship calls)
  • Anthropic (AI job matching, described below)
• For legal reasons: to comply with law, legal process, or government requests; to enforce our Terms; or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our members, the public, or Next Move.
• In a business transfer: if Next Move is reorganized, merged, or sold, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
• With your consent or at your direction.

AI job matching

To suggest jobs, the App compares your skills, education, experience, location preferences, and athletic background with open job posts. When AI matching is turned on, this profile information and the job descriptions are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to rank the jobs and write a short reason for each match. Anthropic processes this data to provide the service to us and, under its commercial terms, does not use it to train its models. Job matches are suggestions only. Employers make their own hiring decisions.

Subscriptions and payments

If you subscribe in the iPhone or Android App, Apple or Google processes your payment. We do not receive your card number. We receive subscription status (for example, active, renewed, or expired) through RevenueCat. If you subscribe on the website, Stripe processes your payment and shares your subscription status and email with us.

Retention and deletion

• We keep your information while your account is active.
• You can delete your account anytime in the App (Settings → Delete account). This permanently deletes your profile, files, connections, messages you sent, posts, applications, and other account data from our active systems.
• Some information may remain for a limited time in backups, in records we must keep for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons (such as payment records), or where other members have a copy (for example, messages you sent them before deletion).
• Pricing requests sent through the Site are kept as long as needed to respond and follow up, then deleted on request.

Your choices and rights

• Access and update: edit your profile anytime in the App.
• Visibility: change who sees each section in Settings → Privacy.
• Notifications: turn email alerts on or off in Settings, and manage push notifications in your phone’s settings.
• Delete: delete your account in the App, or email us.
• State privacy rights: depending on where you live, you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of sale or targeted advertising (we do neither). Email support@nextmoveplaybook.com to make a request. We will verify your identity and respond within the time required by law, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls that limit each member to the data they are allowed to see, and reputable hosting providers. No system is perfectly secure. Please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

Age requirement

The App is only for people 18 and older, and we check age at sign-up. The Site is not directed to children under 13. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy as the Services change. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for significant changes, notify you in the App or by email.
