Terms of Use
Effective October 25, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Next Move Playbook (“Next Move,” “we,” “us”). They cover the website at nextmoveplaybook.com (the “Site”) and the Next Move Network mobile and web app (the “App”) (together, the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Services.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account in the App. By using the App, you confirm that you are 18 or older, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you are not barred from using the Services under applicable law.
2. Accounts and verification
- Keep your login secure and don’t share your account. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Use your real name and accurate information. Don’t impersonate anyone or misrepresent your athletic history, education, employer, or job.
- We may verify athletes (for example, by school email or roster) and recruiters and companies (for example, by work email). A “verified” badge means we completed a reasonable check. It is not a guarantee about a member or employer.
- Only verified recruiters at verified companies may search candidates, schedule interviews, or message athletes they aren’t connected with.
3. Membership, trials, and subscriptions
- Founding Members: the first 40 members to join (excluding Next Move staff) receive 12 months of free access, starting on the day they join.
- Free trial: members who join after the founding spots are filled receive a 7-day free trial.
- Membership price: after your free period, membership costs $5.00 per month (or the local equivalent shown at purchase), plus any applicable taxes. Prices may change with advance notice, as required by the App Store, Google Play, or law.
- Without a membership: when your free period ends, you can still sign in, view and edit your profile, restore purchases, and delete your account. Posting, messaging, connecting, applying to jobs, booking mentorship, and scheduling interviews require an active membership.
- Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.
- In the iPhone App: payment is charged to your Apple ID. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
- In the Android App: payment is charged to your Google Play account. Cancel in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
- On the web: payment is charged to your card through Stripe. Cancel using the link in your receipt or by emailing us.
- Refunds: App Store and Google Play purchases are refunded under Apple’s and Google’s policies. Request refunds from them directly. For web subscriptions, contact us. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we don’t provide credits for partial months.
- Separate paid plans (such as Recruiter Pro or Premium coaching) may have additional terms shown when you buy them.
4. Community rules
Next Move is a professional community. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, bully, discriminate against, or demean anyone, including based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
- Post sexual, violent, hateful, or illegal content, or content that exploits or endangers minors.
- Spam, scam, phish, or solicit money, or post fake jobs or misleading job offers.
- Use the Services to recruit athletes in violation of NCAA, conference, or school rules, or offer improper benefits or inducements.
- Collect members’ information by scraping, bots, or other automated means, or use member data for anything other than legitimate networking and hiring.
- Share someone else’s private information without permission.
- Hack, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Services, or get around access controls, paywalls, or limits.
You can report content or members and block anyone from their profile. We review reports and may remove content, suspend accounts, or permanently ban users who break these rules, usually within 24 hours of a report and at our discretion.
5. Your content
- You own what you post: your profile, resume, photos, videos, posts, and messages.
- You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and share your content as needed to operate the Services and according to your privacy settings. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content others have already received (such as messages) or copies we must keep by law.
- You confirm you have the right to post your content and that it is accurate and lawful.
- We may remove content that violates these Terms.
6. Recruiters and employers
- Recruiters must represent a real, legitimate employer and have authority to post jobs for it.
- Job posts must be accurate, lawful, and non-discriminatory, and are subject to our review before they go live.
- Use candidate information only to recruit for your company’s real openings, and comply with employment and privacy laws.
- Don’t charge candidates any fee.
- Next Move is not an employment agency for App members unless we agree to that in a separate written agreement. Employers are solely responsible for their hiring decisions and job offers.
7. Current college athletes
If you are a current college athlete, NCAA, conference, and school rules (including name, image, and likeness (NIL) rules) still apply to you. Information in the App, including our NCAA and NIL guidance, is general information, not legal or compliance advice. Check with your school’s compliance office before accepting paid work, NIL deals, or anything that could affect your eligibility. You are responsible for your own compliance.
8. Coaching services
Coaching programs, university partnerships, and employer services described on the Site are provided under separate proposals or agreements. Requesting pricing doesn’t create a contract. We don’t guarantee interviews, job offers, salaries, or placements.
9. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any member or employer is who they claim to be, or that you will get a job, interview, or mentor. Job matches and recommendations are suggestions only. You are responsible for your interactions with other members. Use good judgment, especially before sharing personal information or meeting in person.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Next Move and its owners, employees, and partners won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities, arising from your use of the Services or the conduct of other members. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify Next Move against claims arising from your content, your use of the Services, or your violation of these Terms or the law.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account anytime in the App (Settings → Delete account). We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us or other members, or if we stop offering the Services. If we end the Services entirely, we will give reasonable notice where possible. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as content licenses for existing copies, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) survive termination.
12. Apple and Google
If you downloaded the App from Apple’s App Store:
- These Terms are between you and Next Move only, not Apple, and Next Move (not Apple) is solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Your license to use the App is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store’s Usage Rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
- Next Move, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection or privacy claims, and claims that the App infringes a third party’s intellectual property.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
If you downloaded the App from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also apply to your download and purchases.
13. General terms
- Changes: we may update these Terms. We’ll post the new version with a new effective date and notify you of material changes in the App or by email. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept them.
- Governing law: these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts in Maricopa County, Arizona, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
- Entire agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Next Move about the Services. If any part is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a term isn’t a waiver.
- Assignment: you may not transfer your account or these Terms. We may assign them as part of a reorganization, merger, or sale.
